We are hoping for some better weather for our annual athletics day which is scheduled for Thursday, March 2nd this year!

This is the first time in two years that we are able to host this event and we know both students and staff are very excited to be getting back to some normality and competing against each other in what will be a great day for the school.

Due to ongoing construction works at the school, this year's event is going to be held at Porritt Stadium. We are giving this notice out now as students will be expected to meet at the stadium and depart from the stadium instead of arriving and leaving from school.

Timings for the day are as follows:

• 8.30am - Students arrive at Porritt Stadium carpark and rolls to be taken in Iwi spaces
• 8.45am - Iwi walk ins
• 9.00am - First events start
• 3pm - Day concludes, students leave Porritt

Students are expected to bring lunch, plenty of water, sunscreen, a hat, be in their iwi colours and wear clothing that is suitable for participating in both competitive and non competitive activities.

Capacity is limited at the stadium, but as a parent or guardian of a student at the senior school you are welcome to attend to support. If you want to bring younger family members then you will need to be responsible for looking after them. If you also have some expertise you would like to offer to help us run the day then please let us know on the sport email listed below.

For health and safety reasons if people turn up and do not meet these criteria they will be turned away.

We understand that some circumstances may prevent students from arriving and departing Porritt stadium on their own accord. If this is going to be an issue for your child, please contact the sports department as soon as possible on sport@rhs.school.nz and we will endeavour to put a plan in place for your child to attend.
