NCEA
Common Assessment Activities (CAA) - Literacy and Numeracy
The results for the Literacy and Numeracy CAA, that were sat in June, have been released to students. Many students have experienced success in obtaining their Literacy and Numeracy co-requisite both through the CAA as well as through their internal assessments.
For students who are still to obtain their Literacy and/or Numeracy co-requisite:
- They will be entered into the October CAA for the specific test that they need to complete.
- There will be specific CAA preparation sessions offered in the lead up to the October CAA. It is recommended that students make themselves available for these.
- Many students will also have access to either Literacy or Numeracy tagged standards that make up their internal assessments. Students are encouraged to check which assessments are tagged for literacy & numeracy on their NZQA entries.
CAA Support Term 3:
There will be a literacy and numeracy session offered during the Week 8 Workshops and Tutorials.
The focus on the sessions will be to:
- Understand the feedback they received from NZQA and next steps
- Access to an Education Perfect course to support self-paced learning
CAA Support Term 4:
There will be a literacy and numeracy session offered during Weeks 3 and 4 (workshops and tutorials focused). The focus for the sessions is explicit teaching and learning with maths/numeracy + literacy specialists.
