Rototuna High Schools

KORERO FROM MIRANDA

Nau mai hoki mai Rototuna e te Whānau,

Welcome to Week 5, Term 2.

It was good news that the industrial action has been called off this week until next Tuesday. This means we have moved back to our normal timetable next Tuesday (30th May) and Thursday (1st June). We will update you as soon as we know the results from these negotiations.

This time of year heralds a focus on polishing and finishing assessments, in preparation for handing in, before the changeover from Semester 1 to Semester 2 at the end of next week.

To help track learning, a new progress report will be available for your student next Friday (2nd June), so keep your eyes peeled! We will be providing your student with a printed version as well as emailing the update to you. This update is based on the evidence of learning your student’s kaiako (teachers) have seen to date and the results that have been published. I encourage you to have conversations with your student(s) about the progress they are making and their next steps. Please make sure to contact your student’s Kaiārahi | Whānau advisor if you have any questions.

Over the past two weeks there have been some great things happening, from our first Puna Wānanga student-led market day to a youth leadership development day attended by two students, Nury Choi and Jazlyn Gillies. More details are included about these and other events so please read on.

Ngā mihi,

Miranda
