Building Update - Carpark

Part of the building works at RHS requires the creation of more carparking. The civil works for this, mostly at the senior end of the school where there is more available space, will begin at the end of this week. It will occur in 3 stages:

Stage 1: (May) A new carpark on the end of the SHS courts will be built, and a new driveway entrance will be created at the north end of this carpark. It will be helpful to have this done while Bourne Brook Ave is still closed. The off road parking on Bourne Brooke Ave will be made available to the school during this time.

Stage 2: (August) The carparking in front of The Peak reception end and the SHS courts will be closed to convert this into a 2 laned pick up and drop off zone. Stage 1 will be open before Stage 2 commences. We are hoping/expecting that Bourne Brooke Ave and the currently closed section of North City Rd will be open by this stage.

Stage 3: (October) The carparking in front of the SHS/school reception end of the building will be closed to create perpendicular parking. The exit of this pick up and drop off area will be permanently closed at the school reception end, to significantly widen the signalised crossing that our pedestrians, cyclists and scooterers use and to make this crossing safer. Stage 2 will be open before Stage 3 commences.

Stages 2 and 3 will make use of the large grass berm at the front of the school. There will be some disruption at this end of the school and we appreciate everyone’s patience and understanding at this time.
