A big congratulations on behalf of RSHS to Larissa Newport, who achieved Scholarship in Visual Arts. Not only is this a significant achievement, but it is a first for our school.
“New Zealand Scholarship is our most prestigious secondary school award, assessing students’ ability to demonstrate high-level critical thinking, abstraction and generalisation,” says NZQA Deputy Chief Executive Assessment, Andrea Gray.
Her Year 13 Painting folio board, completed in 2021, showcased outstanding talent, reminiscent of a young Monet. This was accompanied by a Scholarship workbook containing thorough research alongside personal reflections.
