KORERO FROM MIRANDA
Kia ora Rototuna Whānau,
With Easter marking the end of Term 1, it seems a good time to reflect on how learning has progressed during this challenging term. To this end you will be receiving a progress report for your student, so keep an eye out for this in your inbox. The report will give you a snapshot of the quality of work your student is producing in each subject or module and whether they are on track to achieve. The significance of this report is that it is based on observations teachers have made about your students current work patterns - it is not their final grade. These predicted outcomes give us time to work with your student and make any necessary adjustments to support their success. We hope that these reports will also spark conversations at home about your student’s learning and the steps that might be needed to strengthen or improve their outcomes.
As we move into the colder Term 2 months, I know it is tempting for some of our students to wear warmer clothes that are not necessarily part of our uniform. Over the Term 1 break could you please ensure that your student has their school jackets and jumpers ready for their return in Term 2. We really appreciate your support so that we can keep the focus where it needs to be - on the learning. We want to have positive conversations with your students about their learning and our optimism in them as learners rather than conversations about compliance.
Thank you in anticipation for your continued support. Have a fabulous Easter break, stay safe and we are looking forward to seeing you in Term 2
Ngā mihi,
Miranda
