KORERO FROM FRASER
A brief issue today to reiterate our previous lockdown messages and just to say that I hope you are all doing OK in lockdown.
It is our goal over this lockdown period to keep our distance learning lessons and tasks purposeful and manageable. An end result of keeping the flow of learning going while we are in lockdown and having everyone somewhat refreshed and enthusiastic when we are back at school would be amazing. I hope this approach aligns with everyone else’s beliefs and you can support the learning at home, hopefully in short, sharp and manageable chunks. We want to be set up for all staff, students and whānau to really make the most of the extra time at home and be ready to maximise whatever is left of 2021 when we are back at school.
If you have any questions about the distance learning being facilitated, remember your first port of call should be to email your child/ren’s advisory teacher. Check in with Schoology regularly as well, sitting alongside our young people and engaging with their learning as well is super helpful. We are deliberately trying to minimise mass emails etc as well as we know how these just add to the amount of information everyone is receiving each day from us and other sources (media, your workplaces etc).
Some positive feedback from our teachers so far, they are feeling like the engagement of both students and whānau has been brilliant. We really appreciate the positivity and support out there from you all.
Keep up the good work everyone. I am optimistic that NZ has still got this!
