The focus of the programme is to provide support for Te Pae Here schools to improve school wide attendance and engagement. The improvement that we are seeking is aligned with the targets that have been set as part of the June 2022 national 'Attendance and Achievement strategy.'

This programme will be operating for sixteen weeks (August 15 to December 16). The Ministry of Education has provided funding to run this pilot and it is our hope that they will provide further funding for the programme to continue operating in 2023.

The team will work with myself, as Te Pae Here’s lead principal, and allocated across school teachers to support identified students to improve their level of attendance. This will also involve working with whānau, mana whenua, and other community groups to improve attendance levels.

We are seeking to appoint people that are comfortable with visiting students and whānau in their homes and building relationships of trust and care so that they can support students and whānau to implement strategies to improve attendance levels.

Te Pae Here is made up of twenty-two schools and thirteen early education centres (EEC).  The following link which provides information about the schools and ECE organisations that are affiliated with the Te Pae Here Kāhui Ako Te Raki Rāwhiti o Kirikiriroa.
