KORERO FROM MIRANDA
Kia ora Rototuna whānau,
You will be aware that from Friday 11 March the requirements for positive COVID cases and their household contacts were reduced from 10 to seven days. Another welcome change is that we are all now able to carry out Rapid Antigen Testing (RAT) to test for COVID. The reduction in isolation times and ability to self-test will all help us get back to our daily lives and routines sooner.
As we move further into the term, we want our students to access their expert teachers so they can continue to progress their learning and the quality of evidence they are producing. Quality is demonstrated when students are able to link and integrate individual ideas to show a deeper relational understanding. We want our teachers and students to be able to have conversations that focus on developing this kind of thinking. We want staff and students to have conversations focused on their learning and our optimism in them as learners.
To help us keep this focus on learning, it is really important that if your young person is well, that they come to school and attend their onsite classes that are operating. Be assured that we continue to follow public health measures to reduce any health risks and keep everyone safe. These measures include wearing masks, physical distancing, good ventilation and appropriate cleaning procedures. We are looking forward to seeing your student online and in their onsite class.
Before we moved to our Hybrid Learning model, there was a situation that highlighted the importance of keeping safe online. I have included some information and links that you might find useful as a parent so we can work together to look after our students online.
To our Ukrainian community I am sending our best wishes to you and your families, prīĭmіt' moї naĭkrashchі pobazhanni͡a.
Noho ora mai,
Miranda
