Welcome to Week 3 everyone.
Later this term our first semester will be coming to a close and this is an important opportunity for us to communicate learning and progress to you all. We do this through written reports and Individual Education Meetings (IEMs).
At the end of last year we gathered some feedback on how we are doing in this space and received some valuable feedback that will assist us in improving both our reports and IEMs at the end of this semester. The following are some key changes we have made in response to the feedback we received:
Simplifying the format of the report and using more parent/caregiver ‘friendly’ language
Adding a personal comment for all students that will be written by your child/ren’s Learning Advisor after reviewing their progress across all modules
The report will be sent out prior to the IEMs providing you, our students and advisors with information to scaffold discussion
We have devised some additional tools for our Learning Advisors to regular review how their advisory students are doing in their Schoology courses to compliment information they receive through KAMAR (our student database system)
Added summary semester grades for effort and behaviour in each module
We hope the changes we have made make it much easier for you to understand how your child/ren are doing at school with their engagement, achievements and progress. While curriculum and SOLO levels will still be used, they will be categorised in three categories of progress and achievement; Cause for concern, Good and Excellent.
