We have a number of bus route and timetable changes out for consultation at the moment and I’m keen to spread the word to ensure people who may be affected are aware of these proposals and have the opportunity to submit on them. There are a number of changes proposed for the Rototuna area.

In a nutshell we’re looking at a refresh of the Hamilton bus network to make it more reliable, efficient and relevant. All of the detailed info is available here: We’re hitting refresh on Hamilton’s bus network – BUSIT and the closing date for feedback is 4 July.

There’s a number of proposals in the consultation to be rolled out later this year – once we have more drivers available, infrastructure in place, and have had time to act on feedback from the consultation.

The key changes proposed for your area are:

• Bringing the Flex on demand rideshare service to Rototuna and Flagstaff areas 6am-7pm, seven days a week
• Replacing the Rototuna Circular bus with extensions to the 4 Flagstaff and 5 Chartwell services – noting your schools will still be served at the school times
• Increasing the frequency of the 5 Chartwell bus
• Changing the bus route that serves the Huntington Drive area to Rototuna schools from the 16 Rototuna bus to the 5 Chartwell bus
