Puna Wānanga - Issue 4

Puna Wānanga

What has been happening on our Wednesdays to build and better the community:
  • Guest speakers galore - including Wayne Timmo, Waikato Times (Director of News); InsideOut and Rainbow Hub and Louise Hutt from Hamilton City Council discussing disability and inclusion advocacy.
  • Holi Festival organised by Pahl Kumar (HEALTH Puna Wānanga) who is focussing on creating a safe place to belong in our school environment regardless of culture, race, ethnicity, gender, disability and age.
  • Wheelchair Basketball to create awareness about disabilities.
  • Myriad of students pitching their project ideas for feedback and support in our Tuna Tank. These ideas have included a potential Year 13 camp, redevelopment of the bike track, creating a 'big brother’ system, chicken coops for school. We look forward to hearing from many more areas.
  • So many EOTCS with students discovering, connecting and ideating for their projects to ensure they are fit for purpose.
