KORERO FROM FRASER
I hope that Term 2 is going well for everyone out there. I certainly feel lucky to be enjoying some time for reflection and refreshment this term. I know the team at school are doing an amazing job in my absence.
I am writing to let you all know that I have been offered and have accepted the position of Principal at Waimea College, a school of just under 1600 students at the top of the South Island, in the township of Richmond. I will be finishing at Rototuna Junior High on Wednesday, August 3 and start at Waimea College on Monday, August 7. This means I will have the opportunity to come back at the start of next term to connect with and bid farewell to students, staff and the wider community. At the start of next term we will be in contact in regard to any opportunities that will take place to do this.
It has been a huge privilege being the foundation Principal of Rototuna Junior High and I have enjoyed a very positive and supportive relationship with the wider Rototuna Community since starting here. My role as Principal has been both challenging and rewarding and I feel positive about what we have achieved as a school over the last eight years. We have amazing students here and I will certainly miss those that I have connected with very much. I will leave behind a very capable and dedicated team of people and I know that the school will continue to thrive over the coming years.
The School Board will no doubt be in communication with you all in regard to the recruitment and employment of my successor over the coming weeks.
