KORERO FROM MIRANDA
Kia ora Rototuna e te Whānau,
This is our last eNewsletter for a big Week 10 and an even bigger Term 3, with the completion of many assessments and exam practice last week, alongside sports celebrations, and our Puna Wānanga showcase on Wednesday.
One of my personal highlights this term has been the chance to meet some of our amazing students at the Manukura|Student Leader interviews. I had the pleasure of meeting 40 outstanding applicants who were able to talk about their leadership aspirations for our school. Interestingly, a couple of themes were repeated across all these interviews. One was that our students value the many opportunities they have at our school through learning in integrated modules and specialist classes, Puna Wānanga, Student Councils and Whānau. Secondly, they value the learning relationships they have with their kaiako (teachers) and connections they are able to make with our community. When asked who was a leader who has inspired them, the names of their kaiako (teacher), a sports leader, or their parents were shared. Thank you to all the young people who made the effort to apply for these positions and the wonderful people around them who continue to inspire our students.
As we near the end of the year, we want to make sure we finish strong and your young person leaves with what they need. In this newsletter there is some important information covering your student’s learning programmes for the first two Wednesdays of Term 4.
Thank you all for the continued support and encouragement you give to your students and to our school.
Finally,
Have a great Term 3 break with your family.
Stay well.
Stay safe.
And I look forward to reconnecting with you next term,
Ngā mihi,
Miranda
