Māori Language Moment

Te Wiki o Te Reo Māori

This week has been a time for all of us to (re)connect and grow our Te Reo Māori.

It has been a great opportunity for all of us to try to include more reo into our school day. To do this, many Whānau (advisory) students took part in Māori Language Moment activities by listening, speaking, singing, learning, playing or reading.

Also our tu meke Manukura (student leaders) along with our tu meke staff, Brad Hills and Piri Hetet-Wairau, have been working to create our very own 'Rototuna Repping the Reo'. After speaking with our rangatahi (young people), Brad found that building confidence is the key to us all having a go and using reo.

To help us, the team have created a short video to build our confidence saying hello - Kia Ora! This is one of a series of videos shared each week with our rangatahi.

Ka pai mahi e te whānau - thank you for this great work!
