Young Enterprise
Young Enterprise is an organization which, through different competitions, aims to inspire young people to discover their potential in business, as well as life. Events such as; GrowingNZ, Innovation Challenge, YES Regional Trade Fairs and Entrepreneurs In Action, allow high school students to design, plan and run their own businesses.
This year the Young Enterprise Trade Fair was held in Chartwell, Hamilton on Saturday 5th September 2020. Schools from all around Waikato set up stalls for the competition, showcasing their businesses to be judged on overall appearance, promotional material, selling techniques and financial control. Olivia and Sasha represented RSHS, entering their business - Positive Youth NZ.
Positive Youth NZ is a company that aims to spread positivity through stylish customizable t-shirts with personal quotes. Olivia and Sasha wanted to create an uplifting product that promotes a positive environment, especially during COVID-19. All of their t-shirts are screen printed and designed by themselves. The girls are also planning on expanding their business by joining with another company, and releasing metal pins with the Positive Youth NZ designs.
Following the success of coming second place in the Young Enterprise Trade Fair, the girls are planning to enter the Young Enterprise Sales Competition. With Olivia’s passion for design and business being something Sasha considers for the future, we are sure they will do well.
