Catch Up Week & Whānau Conferences

During Whānau Conferences students will be able to and encouraged to attend school if they need to catch up or complete work from Semester 1.

Teachers will be working with students to provide targeted support, while completing Whānau Conferences. The Whānau Conference period is an important transition period for our students and teachers.

We appreciate that this may seem like ‘another week off’ when students have had time away from school already. For both our teachers and students many have been working remotely now for 18 weeks and while they have only recently returned to the school site, students have spent the last 7 weeks completing work associated with their Semester 1 courses. The Whānau Conferences allow additional time to provide both targeted support for students and to connect with whānau in meaningful ways to ensure that we get a clear picture of where our students are at before launching into the next phase of their learning journey.

For many, the COVID time has been disruptive and challenging and this will require some time to understand goals and aspirations moving forward and to ensure all students are set up to achieve both academic and personal success.

If your child needs support during this week, please contact your Kaiārahi (Advisor). We will also be requiring some students to attend school during this period of time.
