Manukura - Student Leadership

From each of the three students, one student from each Iwi has been selected to be the Leader for their Iwi. (Equivalent of a Head Boy/Girl). We will be announcing these leaders in our next Newsletter once all of the students who were shortlisted have been notified.

Unfortunately, our appointment process for our Manukura was interrupted and for this reason we had to modify our selection process slightly for this year only. Students who submitted applications were shortlisted; they then submitted a video that outlined their views on why they thought they would make a good student leader in our school.

During the lockdown period these videos were viewed by Leaders in our school including all of the SLT, the Kaihautu (Iwi Leaders), the Kaitohutohu and members of the Pouhere team.

Going forward, a more comprehensive selection process including student voice, will occur at the beginning of Term 4 so that leaders can be announced at our final assembly or Prizegiving. This will allow them to take up their role from the beginning of the 2021 year.
