KORERO FROM MIRANDA

Kia ora Rototuna e te Whānau,

As we move into the second half of the year it is a good time to reflect on our hopes and goals for the remainder of the year ahead. I am hoping that the reports you received last week will provide an opportunity to talk with your young person about their progress to date, where they are shining and where they might need additional support. Please get in touch with your young person’s Kaiarahi (advisor) if you need to seek any clarification or to seek further information from teachers.

Unfortunately, our plans for next week’s Common Assessment Activities and Whānau conferences have changed because we are expecting further PPTA action. The industrial action has expanded to involve more Year levels rostering home, if ratified on Friday.

To reduce the impact of these anticipated actions we have changed the timing of the CAA. We have also postponed Whānau conferences until the beginning of Term 3. I apologise for any inconvenience this may cause but we have determined this gives you, our teachers and our students the most certainty for next week (12-16 June). The details of these changes follow in the newsletter. We will also be sending letters to you with this updated information.

Our priority continues to be operating effectively and safely while maintaining our focus on teaching and learning. Thank you all for your anticipated support through these unpredictable times.

Ngā mihi,

Miranda
