1st XV

Congratulations to our 1st XV Rugby Team

On August 5th, a Thursday afternoon, our 1st XV travelled across to Fraser High for a critical game to determine which school would be going onto the Rugby Schools semi-finals.

The game was a really tough encounter but the boys showed a huge amount of determination in their performance to win their game 22-19 against Fraser High 1st XV.

This confirmed our team's place in the top 4 of the competition playing in the semi-finals on August 14th against Te Awamutu College. The boys had Te Awamutu on the ropes and were leading at the halfway point of the game. Te Awamutu had not been in this position all season and unfortunately the firepower of TA’s bench helped them bounce back to win.

Regardless of this outcome, we are very proud of our young men. They have worked hard and with solid coaching from Matt Jones and ongoing support from families, friends and teachers we have seen them establish themselves as one of the top performing school rugby teams in Hamilton. Congratulations to you all.

Finally, from the U17 Harlequins team training camp that took place in the holidays, we have had FIVE students selected into this squad. A massive massive achievement and an amazing reward for all of their hard work.

These students are; Harrison Langi, Daniel Vaha'i, Boston Gorden, SJ and Theo Millington.
