Project Showcase 2020

At RSHS, Impact Projects are an integral part of our curriculum. They involve real world, authentic, integrated learning experiences which are meaningful and passionate to each student.

Next Wednesday, 4th November, between 5.30-7.30pm there will be a Showcase celebrating the learning done in Impact Projects 2020.

Showcase is an opportunity for students to celebrate the learning and achievements they have done in projects throughout the year. It is a chance for us to show how we have made a difference in the community and the contribution we have made to society.

While one aim of Projects is to give back to the community, another is about what we learn from the experiences in order to improve our knowledge. For students, Impact Projects are an opportunity to think about more than just ourselves. In today's world, it is easy to become self-centered and get caught up in life. Unfortunately this can blind us to make us think what we’re doing is all we’re capable of. However, being part of Impact Projects reminds us about the joy and happiness we can get out of life from doing things for other people, without expecting anything in return. We are all in a position where we can do good for society, regardless of it being small or big. Each thing we do can make a difference to someone's life or the community itself. We each desire to make the world a better place, for ourselves and the future generations to live in. Thus, the importance of Impact Projects - giving numerous learning opportunities for students to make a difference in the community, school and other people's lives.

This Showcase will be an important evening for students to share with whānau and the community the work they have done in their Projects and the ways they made a difference in the world, community and school. During the evening there will be live performances, activities, music, food, refreshments, and entertainment for everyone.

We all have the power to change the world. It’s just about what we do with it.
