KORERO FROM FRASER
As expected, the end of the school year is now closing in very quickly. This week provides one of the highlights of our school year with our CLOAK prizegivings. While this year they are disrupted by COVID restrictions we are determined to acknowledge our wonderful students as best we can. This means 12 Hapū prizegivings are all going to be recorded and shared with whānau when we have finished. Can I just say to you all (as I will to the students) that we are super proud of the students we are acknowledging and appreciative of the positive support they receive from staff, friends, classmates and of course yourselves, their whānau.
While we are on the theme of CLOAK and acknowledging excellence I want to publicly acknowledge the amazing achievement of one of our Year 10 students, Claudia Batlle Llorens. Last week Claudia became the first student to ever receive all five gold CLOAK badges. That is one for each letter of the CLOAK.
The process of badging is one that has steadily grown over the last two-three years and there is a high threshold of evidence required to achieve any gold badge. To achieve five is an amazing feat. Let this be a challenge to our other students!
