EOTC 2022

Between now and the end of this year, families will start to receive information regarding Education Outside The Classroom at the start of 2022.

We always wait until we have finalised Hapū and Advisory changes before we send this information out. This allows us to send specific information with dates, etc to you all.

Please complete and submit any information required for EOTC 2022 and consider coming along to help too. I also ask that wherever possible you consider making payment for activities this year. This will help with return to school costs in the new year!

COVID and specifically the new traffic light system is going to have an impact on our ability to run EOTC programmes as per normal but we are determined to go ahead with what is an important start to our year.

Presuming we are at ‘Orange’ (which is reasonably likely and a best case scenario at the same time) we know the River Hop (Year 7), Raglan Kayaking (Year 9) and Wero (Year 10) can go ahead as per normal. However I do want to note that for the Year 9 & 10 activities, vaccination certificates will be required for students who attend as they are required by our providers. This is now a reality for any school activity involving students over the age of 12 years. Wherever a student cannot attend due to vaccination status we will offer alternative options that also provide similar opportunities for challenge and fun.

Because the camps at Year 8 are not able to be run under ‘Orange’ we have booked these for later in the year (early in Term 3). Year 8s will most likely do a school based EOTC activity day at the start of the year.
