2021 RSHS Ball Attendance & Participation

This year the RSHS Ball will be held at the Atrium @ WINTEC and is scheduled for Friday 27 Aug, starting 7.30pm and ending at 11.00pm.

While we understand the desire for some students to prepare for the Ball, please be aware, Friday 27 August is a full school day and is NOT a teacher only day. We expect all students to be present at school.

We wish to support as many of our students as possible, in Year 12 and 13, to be able to attend. One of our clear criteria has been around attendance. Of late, we have been fielding a number of questions from students about our School Ball attendance requirement. The following clarification has been shared with them.

  • Our attendance requirement for the Ball is 94%. This is made up of Justified Absence + Present.


In an effort to support some students that have been struggling with their attendance we have provided the following exception:

  • If a student attends everyday (including and especially Wednesdays) from the start of Term 3 until the Ball, we will allow them to attend the Ball. This means they will not need to meet the 94% attendance requirement.

  • If they are unable to do this, we will revert back to our standard criteria of 94%.


It is critical for all students to be engaged in learning while they are at school. This includes being at school and then present in all learning experiences.
