Rototuna High Schools

KORERO FROM FRASER

Welcome to Week 6 everyone. I am pleased to say that our modules and Flight Times have settled into a positive and learning focussed routine. I hope that over the next week or so you have received communication from all of your child’s modules outlining you on the focus areas of the module and learning expectations and routines.

Later this week you will be emailed the first issue of effort and attitude grades for all of your child’s classes. Please read the description on these reports as they do describe in brief detail what the numerical scores represent. A score of three is super positive, it means your child is doing everything expected of them and they are prepared and organised with their learning in that module. I encourage you to celebrate the scores of three and also unpack what they may need to do to get to a four or five. Similarly, scores of one or two suggests there needs to be improvement in some area of the module programme/s. Unpacking this and setting some goals around these things is super helpful to us. As I have mentioned before, this is a partnership between home and school so your input is super helpful. I will also add that you are welcome to contact module teachers if you would like more information about why a score of one or two was given. We welcome this contact as it will no doubt result in more positive engagement and progress.

As part of our review of the start of this year,  can I please encourage you all to take some time to complete the ‘Course Selection Whānau Feedback’ section below. Your voice is very important to us!
