KORERO FROM MIRANDA

Nau mai hoki mai Rototuna e te Whānau,

Welcome back to week two term two!

It has been great to reconnect with all our students face to face to start this term. As a senior leadership team we have had the opportunity to meet with each year level and talk about keeping focused, taking opportunities to deepen understanding and making choices that support each other's success. I want to extend a warm congratulations to all the students we were able to recognise who gained their Level 2 NCEA qualifications from 2021 with Merit and Excellence. We will continue to focus on teaching and learning that promotes “How to think, not what to think” to develop the critical, creative and caring thinking skills we need for deep learning.

At the moment our students are polishing and improving their work to hand in before Semester 2 begins (June 20th). This will be especially important for module classes at Year 11 and 12, as students will be choosing and moving into new modules for the second half of the year. As parents and caregivers you will all know the wonderful things your young person is capable of. We are looking forward to sharing their successes with you as the year progresses. Finally, please hold the date - Thursday 2nd June - when we will be holding a Curriculum/NCEA information evening for parents and caregivers. More details will be shared closer to the time.

Ngā mihi,

Miranda
