Rototuna High Schools

KORERO FROM FRASER

Welcome to our final eNews bulletin for the 2022 school year. Yes, it has flown past!

I want to thank everyone, staff, students, whānau and those other people in our community that have ensured 2022 could be a successful one despite the ongoing disruption and challenges that COVID and winter illness threw our way. Over the next two weeks I look forward to acknowledging all of the individual students at our various prizegivings who have thrived this year and significantly contributed to our school in some way.

At the end of the year we will be handing over close to 330 Year 10 students to the SHS with a few going elsewhere also. I want to thank them for the contribution they have made to our school, some of them for the last four years. It is exciting for them to be moving on to their next challenge and for those staying at RHS I look forward to hearing about their success and next steps in their learning and/or life journey.

We are also farewelling some of our teaching staff and I want to thank them all for the contribution they have made to RJHS. Everyone leaves their own mark on a school when they leave and the staff leaving this year will leave us with many positive contributions and connections that I am sure will endure. We are saying farewell to the following teaching staff at the end of 2022; Sally Pendergrast (going to the SHS), Joanne Sacke (moving to the Masterton), Annabelle McLachlan, Kitty Macleod, Shaamini Bellamkonda and Jasmine Palmer (all relocating to Australia). Rebecca Board who was working part time this year after taking parental leave has resigned from her permanent position to enjoy more family time. A big thanks to Josh Ens and Saddaf Naqvi who will be finishing their fixed term contracts at the end of the year too.

We have included information in the eNews in regard to advisory changes etc for 2023. If you do not know what is happening then please contact your child’s advisor directly.

Have an amazing summer break and Christmas everyone and I look forward to seeing everyone back in 2023 safe and well.
