Spirit of Adventure

Spirit of Adventure

Spirit of Adventure Trust was set up in 1972 by Lou Fisher, who had a vision to empower the youth of Aotearoa New Zealand. Today, 'Spirit of New Zealand' is believed to be the world's busiest youth ship, sailing around ten months of the year.

A couple of weeks ago a group of Year 10s from RJHS spent a week on 'Spirit of New Zealand', engaging in activities like ship-handling, teamwork, problem-solving, debating, and water sports (in and on the water). Students learn communication and leadership skills, the importance of self-awareness and being a part of a team through competitive games that involve ingenuity, leadership and fun!
