Hapū / Advisory Changes for 2023

Over the last six weeks we have been busy putting together the Learning Advisory and Hapū groups for 2023.

We are welcoming several new advisory teachers to our school and we also have approximately 350 newly enrolled students joining us.

Welcoming so many new people to our RJHS whānau has meant we’ve had to make some changes to our existing advisory and Hapū groups to ensure we have a balance across the school. This is a time of some change, but it is also an opportunity for students to meet some new people, make new friends and to show leadership, ako, and our CLOAK values of ‘Kindness and Respect’ and ‘Challenge our Mindset’.

Soon, you will receive an email telling you who your child’s Advisory Teacher is for 2023 and which Hapū they will be in. A great deal of thought has gone into these placements. The advisory placements are completed and we cannot make changes once the groups are finalised. At this late stage in the process any change to an advisory would initiate a domino effect and with nearly 1400 students we simply can’t accommodate requests for changes.
