KORERO FROM FRASER
This is the first time for nearly the whole term when I haven’t had to send a separate email in a non eNews week so I am hoping this is another positive sign of things getting closer to normal.
Things are going OK at school in terms of the COVID situation. While we do still have a number of staff still affected and absent due to COVID, it is at a manageable level for us. On an even more positive note, our student attendance has been slowly creeping up over the last two weeks to the point where we are close to getting 90% (pre-COVID) attendance of those students expected at school (doesn’t include students rostered home). This had been down - close to 70% at one point so things are looking positive for us. We have had 285 student cases to date (20% of our total student population). I just want to thank everyone for the ongoing support and resilience over what has been one of the toughest term at school since I have been a Principal.
There are some really important messages about learning below so I don’t want to take up too much space here today. Please take the time to read the information below in regard to viewing student learning online. You are all valued partners in the learning process and your involvement can make a significant difference.
This is our last eNews bulletin this term so I want to wish everyone a happy and safe break over the Easter and term break period. I hope you all get to at least slow down for a couple of weeks and enjoy the Autumn weather.
