The Raroan —

Quality learning across the curriculum continues in Term 4.

Term 4 started at full pace with students engaged in learning across the school. In classes mathematics learning across the school includes: algebra, statistics, financial literacy, probability, and geometry. Literacy is linked across the curriculum with science fiction short stories, chemistry report writing, persuasive writing, explanations and creative writing. Inquiry topics include chemistry, hero, victim, villain inquiry, elections, engineering. Much of this learning is connected to authentic outcomes as you will see in some of the other articles such as the mathability day, Ancient Roman feast, diversity in our community. I have also had the privilege of tasting some amazing food from DPE 3 as the students design menus and discuss quality service for visitors.

The performing arts enrichments groups are preparing for the community showcase later this term and our band and boys dance group are performing at the Brandon Intermediate cultural festival today.

Our cricket teams are preparing for the Nationals in Christchurch and the touch rugby teams are competing today.

Week one of this term we had a celebration assembly for all the academic achievements of the past term. Some of these are in today's newsletter and others in previous newsletters.

A big well done to all students at Raroa for putting your best effort forward, engaging in learning and striving for your best and making a difference for others.
