Educational Conference at Raroa

Stephen Eames —

On the 25th of February Raroa held the annual EducampWelly Conference in and around the Learning Street.

The focus for this Educamp conference was on digital learning and education, sharing ideas discovered and learning from each other. Over 80 teachers from mainly the Wellington region attended. As part of the conference Raroa teachers Chris Johnston presented on Project Based Learning, including podcasting. Chris Bailey on Toolsets, Mindsets and Skillsets and Jason Ataera(DP) and Stephen Eames(AP) on the T-shaped student, preparing students for their futures.

It was a very worthwhile day and a chance to celebrate our learning spaces and give a snapshot into some of the wonderful things going on at Raroa.

Here is a link to a reflection from one of the teachers that attended the conference.  https://cargillsclassroom.wordpress.com/2017/03/02/educampwelly-2017/
