Tawa Sports Exchange Success

The Rāroan —

On Tuesday 20th of June 160 kids went to Tawa Intermediate for the Annual Tawa / Rāroa sports exchange. It was the largest number of kids to be involved in an exchange to date. We took four buses there, one was even an old fashioned red double decker.

The day started off with Tawa Intermediate welcoming us with a karanga, haka and a couple of waiata. We then sung our own school song back.

The day then got off to a great start. There was a wonderful vibe all around with Tawa and Rāroa kids all cheering on each other, encouraging everyone to do their best.

There were over 20 different teams competing in the exchange. We won a few and lost a few but the atmosphere was the winner on the day. Even though I lost my netball game it was so much fun and a great day to be involved in. I will definitely be looking forward to the next exchange we have.
