Last week schools across Aotearoa celebrated Maths Week! At Rāroa, we saw it as the perfect opportunity to get a bit creative, by looking out for everyday maths moments, and just a little bit competitive.

Special activities were incorporated throughout our learning programmes, for example with quick maths questions added into fitness challenges or board games looking at probability.

The Maths team also organised a variety of school wide competitions which were a massive success. In our Real Life Maths video competition, we received a wide range of entries which made the connection between maths and… art, dance, gymnastics, baking, food shopping, ensuring equal portions between siblings and much more! In the class versus class Education Perfect competition, nearly half a million questions were answered over the course of the week!

It was fantastic to see so much enthusiasm throughout the week. A BIG congratulations to the winners of our competitions, listed below and announced in assembly this afternoon (18th August).
