Science Laboratory Technician
St Mary’s College is seeking a highly organised, reliable lab technician who shows initiative, works well independently and with others in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. The position requires a mix of practical and administrative tasks completed on a daily basis. Chemistry Lab experience is essential. The job involves purchasing and preparing chemicals as well as maintenance and preparation of science resources to be used in labs and classrooms.
An understanding of the Guidance to the Code of practice for School Exempt Laboratories, 2016, and current health and safety standards is an advantage.
The position is part-time, in school term-time only, for 20 hours per week. Remuneration is aligned with the NZEI Support Staff in Schools’ Collective Agreement and dependent on the candidates background and experience.
Upholding the special character of St Mary’s College as a catholic mercy college and being able to work collaboratively as part of our high performing Sciences team.

Wellington Junior Chess
Our first tournament at Amesbury School on Sep 2019 was a massive success with 74 entries, over 440 games of beautiful Chess. All the participants and parents enjoyed the Wellington Junior Chess Open!
We are back in 2020. Our next tournament is on 28th March 2020 starting at 9:30 am to 3:30 pm at Johnsonville Community Centre Hall.
It is open to all skill levels and players in Primary through to College to take part. There will be multiple divisions and cash prizes for winners. Our tournament is not for profit! Our goal is to encourage more children to play chess! Flyer attached.

Play Rugby this Year? Wests Junior Rugby Club, invites you to play rugby this season. The club is open to girls and boys from age 3-13. Start out at Nursery, play Rippa Rugby for under 6 and 7, play the fast growing RipRugby under 8/9 and under 10/11, or play Tackle rugby for the Under 8s and onwards which are weight and age graded.

Tena koutou, my name is Bex Dixon and I run a rugby development programme for junior girls in the region. This year we have the opportunity to send two teams of 22 players to Taupo in September for the National Junior Rugby Festival to compete in the first all-girl grade of the festival. We are offering the opportunity to girls around the region see attached flyer and below is the registration form which goes into more detail around eligibility. This is not a representative programme but an opportunity for girls of all abilities to have a chance to be a part of an all-girl team and to be a part of a fantastic experience.

At Wellington Football Club (Axemen Junior Rugby) we cater for all grades from nursery grade (3 and 4 year olds play for free!), through rippa rugby for children up to 9 years of age and tackle rugby for the older kids.
