AED Donated to Rāroa

The Rāroan —

An automated external defibrillator was donated to Rāroa by Embracing Hearts charity.

Rāroa Normal Intermediate School is the happy recipient of an AED device donated recently by the Embracing Hearts charity. Money for the device was raised via donations to the charity supporting the journey of Tim Harraway, who is cycling the length of New Zealand for Embracing Hearts.

Wellington Free Ambulance is donating the display and storage equipment and signage, and will service the device for us at no cost to the school.

All school staff have been trained recently on how to use an AED as well as CPR and first aid training. We are very pleased that we will be able to offer this emergency service to our school and the wider community.

A big thank you to Tim Harraway, Embracing Hearts, and Wellington Free Ambulance from all of us!
