The Rāroan —

Rāroa attracts great teachers! Next year we will have another fantastic group of teachers. Our employment processes are complete and we are looking forward to starting the year with a dynamic teaching team.

Welcome new teachers

Aaron Cope will join us as a teacher with 5 years of experience at the Intermediate age. Most recently at Newlands Intermediate. An extremely competent and collaborative teacher with a strength in Physical Education amongst other valuable skill sets.

Reem Arhaim is a beginning teacher who absolutely shone while on section with us. Reem is extremely creative with a multitude of skills and talents. She will enrich our learning community with her ability to connect with people.

Michael Anderson is another beginning teacher who has been working at Rāroa this year. He very quickly made an impression with his can-do attitude and ability to impress the teaching staff. Another multi-talented individual with a broad range of abilities both sporting and musical.

Abby Smalley joins us from Ngaio School. She comes highly regarded as an expert teacher who we are so lucky to have on our team next year. Abby has a research background in wellbeing, a strong understanding of teaching those with diverse needs and a passion for teaching Literacy.

Sam Johnston is currently a teacher at Evans Bay Intermediate School. We look forward to him joining our team in 2023. Sam will bring his wealth of Intermediate level teaching to Rāroa. His strength in building relationships and connecting with students will see him fit extremely well into Rāroa.
