Nau mai, haere mai - Word from the Tumuaki / Principal
Kia ora koutou, ngā mihi nui Rāroa whānau.
We have had an absolutely positive start to the school year. It is so lovely to have our Year 8s back and to welcome our new students. Last year certainly wasn't the norm in how we had to operate. Being able to give students the full orientation experience has been truly wonderful. The school has a very settled, calm and positive feel about it.
It was extremely rewarding to welcome our new students and whanāu to our kura on Tuesday at our Mihi Whakatau.
Also, thank you to all those year 7 parents who came in on Monday for our transition day. We had the biggest turn out ever. If the success of the day is measured by smiles, laughter and happy conversations then the day was very much a success.
Thank you for supporting your child with your enthusiasm and encouragement as well assisting them in many ways, from traveling to school on the bus or train for the first time to setting up all the support processes necessary for them to succeed. We know that our educational outcomes are in partnership with parents. Your positive encouragement, celebration of success and ability to work with teachers is appreciated.
A lot goes into setting up for the year ahead, to have it all come together has been very rewarding for the Senior Team.
We will be sending home a little survey around our transition processes, please take the time to complete it. We love feedback!
