Welcome to Term 4 - Word from the Tumuaki/Principal
Kia ora e te Whānau, Nau mai haere mai, welcome back to Term Four at Rāroa.
I hope you all enjoyed a break and some quality family time. It looks like students have come back in good spirits and are ready for the final term of the school year.
Term Four is generally the best term of the year with the weather getting better and the approach to the festive season. It is a term where the Year 8 are concluding their time at Intermediate and our Year 7 are preparing themselves to be the leaders within the school. It is a term where we celebrate success and achievement.
As we gear up for the conclusion of the year, kaiako and leaders endeavor to keep students motivated and engaged by providing stimulating programmes. We also have a range of ‘additional’ opportunities such as performing art roadshow, sports exchanges, electives, Year 8 formal and individual teams have a few special activities planned. We do have high expectations for our students and it is important to note that students who make a conscious decision to be defiant or disruptive may not get the full range of additional opportunities on offer.
Kaiako will also be completing end-of-year assessments and drilling down on what progress has been made this year as a result of some of the learning initiatives that have been in place under the umbrella of ASPIRE. Our end of term report is simple and effective, acknowledging the student's achievement. It is important to recognise that a significant amount of effort goes into the transition information for high school to ensure an effective pathway.

The group will also represent Rāroa at the Intermediate Pasifika Festival in Levin later in the term. I am super proud of all our performers.
Ngā mihi nui koutou,
