Update from the Board of Trustees

The Rāroan —

The Board of Trustees meet on Monday the 31st of July

Library presentation.  -  So much more than books …The Board appreciated a presentation from Clare Forrest and Marianne Dobie on ‘the important part the library plays at Rāroa’. They shaped their presentation around the National Education Learning Priorities as well as demonstrating how the library creates a joy of reading, supports information literacy and its role in the pastoral care of students. Rāroa is certainly extremely lucky to have such a high functioning library. - Link to the Library page

Van - Purchase.

Late last year the Board approved the purchase of a van for the school to replace the ageing current one, which is used on almost a daily basis. It has been a challenge purchasing one, as demand for vans is extremely high. The Board supports the purchase of a LDV 12 seater, which will be with us shortly.

Great start to the term

The Principal Report outlined learning programmes, opportunities for students to achieve, professional development opportunities for teachers and acknowledged the strong, influential place Rāroa Normal intermediate holds in the educational landscape.

Attendance.

Attendance is tracking well with monitoring processes in place. Rāroa will continue to encourage healthy attendance habits and get students to school.
