Orientation and Aspire Assemblies

The Rāroan —

To begin this year we wanted to invest time in building relationships with our students, as well as model, encourage, guide and assist students to ASPIRE in our playground and learning environments. So, for the first three days of school ALL teachers were present in our playgrounds at lunch time. Involved in games, catching up with last years students, getting to know students, hanging out, entertaining and enjoying our awesome environment. The tone in the playground has been extremely positive.

Students develop patterns of behaviour based on the guidance and encouragement that they are provided. One of the most powerful influences is the modelling from teachers and peers through positive interaction and the building of relationships as well setting high expectations.

Lunch times were followed by Aspire Assemblies. Welcoming students to Rāroa, singing, motivational speakers and a few performances.
