Concluding a successful term - Word from the Tumuaki/Principal

The Rāroan —

Kia ora e te Whānau,

Firstly, I want to thank you for engaging in Learning Conferences and connecting with teachers to gain a deeper understanding of your child's learning progress, strengths and next steps. Our kaiako have enjoyed the opportunity and acknowledge the critical role parents have in supporting student learning success. Thank you to those parents who added a comment to compliment the kaiako progress report or students celebration of learning.

If you didn’t get the opportunity to meet with the teacher of your child, please reach out to them to arrange another time.

As the term concludes we once again reflect on our achievements and accomplishments. I have really enjoyed reading the report comments from kaiako. They represent the huge growth that students make at Rāroa. This is complimented during my manaakitanga walks around the school, where students are settled and working hard. It is honestly a lovely place to walk around and visit classrooms.

All the best for the holidays. We look forward to seeing students next term, rested and ready for more opportunities to achieve.

My photo is of Kris P, Lucy G, Kumin S, Orlena B, Sophie H and Ben C displaying some of the absolutely amazing work coming out of the Industrial Design room, which is part of the Design Production Education Programme in our Technology block.
