Visa Conditions

• You must maintain a valid student visa throughout your studies.

• You must attend school every day unless you are sick.

• You are not allowed to work unless you are in Year 12 or 13, have permission from the school and your parents, and meet all legal requirements.

Visa Requirements

Attendance: You are required to attend school every day unless you have a valid reason for absence, such as illness. If you are absent, your parents/caregivers must inform the school.

Work Restrictions: Students under 18 years of age are generally not allowed to work in New Zealand. However, students in Year 12 or 13 may work part-time with permission from the school and their parents, and if they meet all legal requirements.

Parental Supervision for Children Under 10: Children under 10 years of age must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian at all times while in New Zealand.

Insurance

• You must have comprehensive medical and travel insurance that meets New Zealand requirements. Your insurance must be finalised before arriving in New Zealand.

• The school will arrange insurance for you if required. Our preferred medical and Travel insurer is Uni-Care Insurance. This insurance must include all of the following:

  (a) your travel – (i) to and from New Zealand; and (ii) within New Zealand; and (iii) if the travel is

  part of the educational instruction, outside New Zealand;

  (b) your medical care in New Zealand, including diagnosis, prescription, surgery, and

  hospitalisation;

  (c) your repatriation or expatriation as a result of serious illness or injury, including cover of

  travel costs incurred by family members assisting repatriation or expatriation;

  (d) and in case of your death cover for (i) travel costs of family members to and from New

  Zealand; and (ii) costs of repatriation or expatriation of the body; and (iii) funeral expenses. If you go to the doctor while you are in New Zealand, you will need to pay for the visit and then claim the cost back later with your insurance company. Ask the school to help you do this.
