Kia Ora,

I’m Viv Dalrymple a registered counsellor/kaiarahi (NZAC) and registered teacher/kaiako. I have worked as a school counsellor in intermediate and secondary schools for more than ten years and been at Raroa Normal Intermediate since 2013. This year I will be at Raroa Mondays,Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Hayley Familton, commenced with us in June last year. She is doing her counsellor/kaiarahi training and happily Hayley will continue with us this year one day per week counselling. Hayley is also a registered teacher with many years teaching experience.

Students are mostly referred by teachers/kaiako, whanau/parents/caregivers or students/akonga themselves. Referrals (including student’s name and reason for referral) can be made by email to v.dalrymple@raroa.school.nz or by ringing the school office and leaving your name and number and I will get back to you.

Students can make appointments through: direct contact; peers; parents; their teachers or email. There are also appointment request slips available for students’ use outside the Librarian’s office. These can be completed and put into the locked box also outside the Librarian’s office. I am the only one who clears this box.

As I do each year I will introduce the service to the students in their classes over the first couple of weeks of Term 1.
