Tournament of the Minds 2019

The Raroan —

Congratulations to the 35 students who competed at the Wellington Regional Tournament of Minds at Victoria University last Saturday.

The five teams had been working on very complex challenges for 6 weeks, and made presentations of their solutions to a panel of judges. They had faced restrictions on materials and budget, created a script, costumes, props and scenery, completed paperwork requirements, as well as met the challenges of working in a group of 7 to problem-solve according to a complex criteria.

The BIGGEST challenge is that they were not allowed any input, feedback, advice from anyone, including teachers, parents and friends. It was all the students' work!

All teams competed against 38 other Wellington Regional Year 7/8 teams and special congratulations go to the teams Raroa 3 and Raroa 4 for both coming second in their divisions.

Congratulations to all the following students for your accomplishments!
