Raroa Inter Intermediate Athletics Champions again.

Miss Clark —

Monday 21 March saw Newtown Park turn on a stunning day for Athletics.

47 Raroa students competed in the inter-intermediate athletics tournament at Newtown Park. We had been carefully observing the weather forecast for DAYS, and what was supposed to be a bitterly cold southerly day with wind and rain turned into a beautifully sunny and calm day. We had an incredible amount of outstanding results from the day, with the Raroa mixed relay team of Nick Martin, Julia Mautz, Jemma Catherwood and Hiroshi Craigie ending the day with a truly exciting win!Raroa has held on to our well earned title for another year, gaining 42 points overall, with the schools in second and third place getting 24 and 22 points respectively. A massive congratulations to all of our competitors who supported each other and put in their best for the day. Our students competed in both track and field events, with the results as follow:TrackYr 7 girls 1500m - 2nd and 3rdYr 8 girls 1500m - 1st and 2ndYr 7 girls 100m - 3rdYr 8 girls 100m - 1st and 3rdYr 7 girls 200m - 2ndYr 7 boys 200m - 2ndYr 7 girls 800m - 1st and 2ndYr 8 girls 800 m - 2ndYr 8 boys 800m - 1stFieldYr 8 boys Discus - 2ndYr 7 boys Long Jump - 1stYr 7 boys vortex - 2nd and 3rdYr 8 girls Shotput - 3rdYr 8 girls High Jump - 1stYr 8 boys High Jump - 3rd
