High quality learning environments which are in a state that is conducive to positive learning outcomes is a property priority.

Currently, work is being completed to ensure we are meeting our property needs. The funding does not affect our operational budget. Upcoming work Includes:

• Replacement of all outdated heaters to ensure warm healthy spaces.

• Replacement of remaining outdated lighting with LED Solutions

• New carpet and vinyl in Whai Wahi and Room 17 and 18

• Guttering and weathertightness schoolwide

• Painting is on a cyclic management programme addressing areas of need.

• A range of other projects are in the pipeline.

Major Capital Works - Redevelopment

• Rāroa continues to work with the Ministry of Education, to address aging buildings. This involves the redevelopment of the majority of the school over a long period of time. Communicating detail of this work will come when timeframes and the impact of the work has been established. It is unlikely to be in the immediate future. The Rāroa team will continue to work with the Ministry of Education and Studio Pacific Architecture to gain clarity as well as work through any decant processes and communication and consultation with the community.
