Research Survey

The Rāroan —

Kia ora!

I am emailing to invite teachers and parents at your school to participate in a survey as part of a University of Auckland research project: The holistic co-design of educational video games: Improving engagement, empowerment and design constraints. We are evaluating how teachers, parents or students’ legal guardians prefer to engage in collaborative sessions to design educational video games. As important stakeholders in these design processes, the participation of teachers and whānau will help provide a better understanding of how to approach design sessions with them and what methods to use to be more efficient and effective.

This research is being carried out by myself, Daniel Kleffmann, as part of my doctoral research at the University of Auckland under the supervision of Dr. Lawrence May and Dr. Allan Fowler.

Participation is through a simple online anonymous 5-10 minute survey that needs to be completed by 01/09/2023. By participating in the survey, you can also choose to go into the prize draw for a $150 Countdown voucher.

The survey is available at this link, including full information about the study, and contact details for the researchers.

We will not collect any personal data. Any data collected will be kept confidential and secured under the guidance of the University of Auckland. The results of the study will be provided to the School, parents or guardians and hope to introduce the learning materials to other Schools throughout Aotearoa.

We would be very grateful if it is possible for your school to forward this email to any mailing lists of teachers and learners’ parents you may have.

Should you have any further questions, please contact me at daniel.kleffmann@aucklanduni.ac.nz

Kind regards,

Daniel Kleffmann
