On Wednesday 6th, Raroa sent two teams to the Rugby League and Flag tournament at the Ngati Toa Domain. Eight girls represented Raroa in 6-a-side Flag and 12 boys in 9-a-side league. 

Raroa’s boys showed great courage and determination coming up against teams of Goliath physiques by comparison and should hold their heads high after a day of close losses.  

The girls came out firing against a good Newlands team. Strong runs from the girls and some slick passing saw the girls take out their first two games. In their third game the girls were brought back to reality against Brandon who would go on to play Tawa in the final. Our final pool game was our best game of the day, with the girls showing off their skills on both attack and defence! Some outstanding individual running was combined with awesome teamwork which saw tries being scored from all areas of the field. The win took us into the 3rd/4th playoff where the girls were narrowly defeated.

An excellent day all round!
