'Breath'

By Emma Strahan-Downes

A breath

A cool draft

gushing into my lungs.

A brisk preview of oxygen

playing in my chest.

A small songbird,

gliding its way

into my respiratory system.

A puff of air, filling up a balloon

A bomb, waiting to go off.

I exhale

'My Best Friend' By Liv Jacobs

My best friend

I spend days laughing and smiling next to you

I spend all of my time away thinking about you

When we walk, I smile, hoping for this to never end

When you’re scared, I hold you close, soothing you, keeping you safe

When we get your haircut and you’re scared, I talk to you, distract you until it's all done

When you’re too excited to handle, we go to the park and run around, throwing a ball around

When I look at you, all I see is my best friend

Even if you’re my furry friend I still

Enjoy it,

Enjoy life,

Love you.

'Summertime'

By Liv Jacobs

I’m happy

This is where I want to be

My friends laugh

I smile

This is where I want to be

Sitting on the beach together

I smile

It’s nice and warm

Sitting on the beach together

My friends laugh

It’s nice and warm

I’m happy

'Friendship'

Lost souls, waiting
The moment has come, they meet
At last, together
